Clynt Yerkes - Trumpet
Clynt Yerkes is the son of a country swing singer/guitarist and a teacher/classical flautist. He has performed since childhood, eventually earning a BM and MM in the renowned jazz studies program at the University of North Texas. During his time at UNT, Yerkes played with Dave Brubeck, James Carter, Bobby Millitello, Adonis Rose, Brad Leali, Steve Wiest, and the Dallas Jazz Orchestra.
Since his arrival in NYC, Yerkes has become a staple of jazz infused with a groove, playing in funk, rock, and R&B influenced groups while maintaining his straight-ahead projects. He is an active studio musician for both radio and television, and leads his own NYC based quintet with residencies at the Player's Club and Manhattan's famous Sleep No More.
Clynt was largely responsible for launching Big Village Little City with Amy Grace and Forefeather in 2016, and has been a cherished member of the collective since its inception
